Devon Preparatory School’s Parents’ Association recently raised more than $55,000 with Spring TIDE 2010, “The Roaring 20s, Puttin’ on the RITZ – Tide Style.” More than 200 parents, faculty, staff, alumni and friends attend this dinner/dance and auction which took place on the school’s campus.

The evening began with a cocktail reception and silent auction in Devon Prep’s beautiful mansion, Calasanctius Hall. At 8 PM the event moved to the athletic facility for dinner, dancing and the live auction.

Among this year’s auction items were vacation homes, sporting event tickets, music and theater tickets, golf packages, jewelry, restaurants certificates, collectibles, college gear, theme baskets and Devon Prep memorabilia. In addition a raffle with three prizes, $10,000 in cash, $2,500 in cash, and an 8GB iPod Touch was also held.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike and Teri Magnotta of West Chester served as chairs of Spring TIDE 2010. They were assisted by a host of parent and alumni parent volunteers.

Dinner was catered by Mrs. Ruth Kalivas of Norristown and Devon Prep students worked as servers throughout the evening helping with appetizers, dinner, and refreshments.

Proceeds from Spring TIDE 2010 will benefit Devon Prep’s Wish List which includes: new doors for St. Mary’s Chapel; front entrance upgrades and renovations; and upgrades and improvements to the athletic facility.
