I found this debate to be quite interesting. Anyone voting for Mayor of Pottstown should at least watch it. It is also quite interesting that one candidate did not debate. This candidate states in an article in The Mercury today “Pottstown, needs to shift to alternative energy, to positive instead of negative energy. For me, this campaign has been about saying to people, ‘Let’s all get over ourselves and pull together for the sake of the borough.’” This candidate also has a significant supporter passing out literature that says the goal of the candidate is “To ‘Do The Right Thing’ Without Fear or Favor.” This supporter is also passing out literature with this previously mentioned literature that warns voters about candidates that are not running for Mayor but are running for other Pottstown positions in this election. These other candidates are part of the same party. This warning literature states “DO YOU REALLY WANT THESE PEOPLE SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS” and “THESE PEOPLE WILL HURT POTTSTOWN”. Wouldn’t this be “negative energy” and it certainly does not represent pulling “together for the sake of the borough”. Remember these candidates are from the same Party and they are not running against this Mayoral candidate. Just what does that tell you?
