Pottstown Students Show Support For Our Country’s Military

Pottstown School StudentsSecond grade students at Pottstown School District’s Rupert Elementary School are showing their patriotic pride and support for our men and women serving in the military overseas.  Students in Ms. Shannon Wagner’s and Mrs. Susan Paravis’ second grade classes have adopted a platoon of 19 members of the United States Army serving overseas.

Each month the students write their adopted platoon letters of support and also send them packages including snacks, toiletry items, and reading material.

This month the students in Ms. Wagner’s class were responsible for individual letters.

Students taking part included:  Juelz Allen, Quaasha Artis, Asya Becker, Zachary Beekley, Sebastian Buchanan, Dominic Cellucci, Brice Cole, Gavin Derecola, Tashon Dupiche, Destinie Harris, Nafesa Hegab, Aniya Hoskins, Molly Howard, Bianca Martinez, Navea Moore, Onjelay Nixon, Nastase Owens, Roshod Phelps, Brenna Pritchard, Anthony Russo, Theresa Smith, Vivian Smith-Hess, Tysier Williams, and Daiyana Wilson.

Students in both of the second grade classrooms will also be partnering with kindergarten students for the upcoming month’s program.
