Pottstown Memorial Medical Center Workers Attend Hospital Board Meeting to Show Unity for Fair Contract

Mayor Sharon Thomas and community members add their voice to fairness.
(Pottstown) Workers at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center will make their presence known at the upcoming PMMC board meeting, today at 7 PM in Pottstown. They will be joined by members of the community who support a fair contract that preserves quality jobs and quality care at the community hospital.
Workers at PMMC have been negotiating a new contract with Community Health Systems (CHS), the national for-profit hospital chain, for months. CHS is proposing to significantly raise healthcare costs, including tripling premiums for their employees while slashing pension benefits
“For 30 yrs I have worked hard to provide quality care to the community, please support me and my co-workers to continue to have access to quality affordable healthcare by helping us achieve a fair contract,” said Cecilia Elli, Med Tech at PMMC.
The board meeting is scheduled for October 26 at 7:00 PM in the Chestmont Professional Building, Classroom #1 at 13 Armand Hammer Blvd in Pottstown.
