Love to ride horses but can’t seem to find anywhere in the Pottstown area?
Love to ride horses but can’t seem to find anywhere in the area? Have a horse but can’t find a reliable place to have it boarded and cared for? Or are you just looking to have a pony at your son or daughters birthday party? Look no further.
Starlyte Farm is a horse boarding/training facility in Douglassville, PA. Operated and run by Jessica Church, who actually started riding horses at the farm seventeen years ago and has been riding ever since.
Besides the seventeen years of riding experience Church also has many years of horse training under her belt; six on her own plus a few under apprenticeship.
This horse facility has eleven stalls in the main barn (there is an upper secondary barn that does not get much use) with eleven horses occupying those stalls. They also have a large outdoor ring with lights and access to trails without going on the road.
Church takes horses to Schooling shows to A rated shows up and down the east coast. Over this past Labor Day weekend, Church’s horse “Whiskey River,” came in first place out of thirty five horses at Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show in the Hunters Division. At the same show one of her students came in second (reserved champion) out of thirty five.
Starlytes services include lessons from beginner to advanced in semi private and group scenarios for pleasure or competitions. They also offer boarding for horses, as well as training in the Hunters/Jumpers Divisions.
During the summer, once a month Starlyte farm also has “Pony Camps.” This consists of kids coming to the farm during the day over a week period to learn all about horses. The camp includes riding lessons, arts and crafts and even swimming in the local creek.
Church tries to schedule the vet around the camp so kids can see what all goes into caring for the horses. Parents are also welcome to come see how their kids have progressed and what they have learned over the week.
Whether you are looking for lessons, boarding, training or just plain horse fun, Starylte Farm is the place to go.

On a side note, I also had the pleasure of meeting Timmy, AKA “Macho Man.” Timmy is a pony coming all the way from Chickatee Island and has placed 2nd in States along with 7th in Nationals. I’d have to say though, compared to Whiskey River, Macho Man is not very macho.
