Lane Closures Scheduled On Northbound Route 309 Expressway for Installation of Dynamic Message Sign

Lane closures are scheduled this week on the northbound Route 309 Expressway between Easton Road and Willow Grove Avenue in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, for the installation of a new dynamic message sign, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation today announced.
The contractor’s schedule for restricting traffic is:
Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 7-8) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning, Route 309’s northbound right lane will be closed.
Thursday Oct. 8 – from 12:01 a.m. to 12:15 a.m., northbound Route 309 traffic will be stopped for approximately 15 minutes.
Thursday and Friday (Oct. 8-9) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Route 309’s northbound right lane will be closed.
PennDOT is placing a new dynamic message sign on northbound Route 309 as part of a $14.3 million project to install Intelligent Transportation Equipment on Route 309 between Easton Road and Route 202. The components include 21 closed circuit television cameras, eight dynamic message signs, incident detectors and travel time readers.
