Sestak Town Hall to Address Issues for People with Disabilities

MEDIA, PA – Liberty Resources, a non-profit, consumer-driven organization that advocates and promotes Independent Living for persons with disabilities, will host Democratic U.S. Senate candidate, Congressman Joe Sestak for a Town Hall on health care Thursday. At the event, Joe will take questions about the health insurance reform bill, which he helped shape and pass through the Education and Labor Committee. He will specifically address ways in which the bill will help people with disabilities gain and maintain their independence. The event is open to the public.

Background: Congressman Joe Sestak’s record on health care:
• As a former 3-start Navy Admiral, who served for 31 years, he benefited from the military’s TRICARE health program. Thanks to that program, his daughter who was diagnosed with brain cancer received the medical treatment that she needed. He has worked hard toward ensuring that everyone has access to the same quality coverage
• Serves on two Heath Sub-Committees and chairs the House Pediatric Cancer Caucus.
• Worked to shape and voted for the American’s Affordable Health Choices Act, the most significant health care reform legislation in over a decade — H.R. 3200, which he helped pass out of his Education and Labor Committee.
