High winds in Pottstown blew over this tree on Rt 663/N. Charlotte Street in Pottstown causing a power outage.

Most of the North End of Pottstown suffered a power failure today.  Redners Supermarket had a backup generator but other retailers were without power. Most homes in the area had no power too.

Fire police and local police were dispatched to the scene. The fire company was on site as well. Traffic was diverted around.  The tree was down almost directly across from CVS in the North End Shopping Center.

The tree was laying on the wires, causing lights to flicker off and on until they finally went out for about 10-15 minutes.
