Green Apple Squared Review

Green Apple SquaredGreen Apple Squared rocked the bean hard Saturday night in wake of a disastrously dampened parade evening. The mood was certainly not damp inside the Hard Bean Cafe of Boyertown, PA though around 9:30 PM. Green Apple Squared (GA2), featuring Chip Rosenberry on vocals and Bobby Jara on guitar, rocked the stormy night away with an acoustic rendition of a mixture of our most famed and favorite rock legends.

Opening up the first set Rosenberry and Jara transformed the small coffee house venue with their own personal interpretation of Lenny Kravitz’, “Fly Away”. Keeping the mood rolling they went on to knock people out of their seats with kindred covers from legends ranging from The Beetles (“Let it Be”), to Staind (“Outside”), and all the way to a personal favorite, Sublime (“What I Got”). Killing the first set to break for an short intermission with a mind-blowing performance of “Cumbersome” by 7 Mary Three, the crowd was left with nothing but praises, exultations, and an imparative need to hear more.

Wasting no time GA2 began shredding through the raucous room and opening their second set with Tonic’s “If You Could Only See”. Continuing their perpetual hold over the crowd, the second set was all but falling short of spectacular. Caving walls in with a performance of “Good” by Better Than Ezra, GA2 went on shocking people with eerily familiar likenesses of songs like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Deep Blue Something, “What I Like About You” by the Romantics, and Fuel’s “Shimmer”. Bringing it all together GA2 closed the night with a hopping performance of “Louie Louie” inspired by the Kingsmen (1963).

With nothing left to do but wonder when we’ll be given the opportunity to see GA2 again, I highly recommend any one looking for good musical entertainment to get up off your couch and go check them out. Bringing together the ages in a rockin’ way never before seen in this town, we’ve all certainly been left sitting on the edge of our seats awaiting this bands next performance.
