“Breast cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancers today and we feel a profound sense of responsibility to support causes that are so close to our franchisee’s and staff’s hearts,” said Dan DiZio, CEO and Founder of Philly Pretzel Factory. “To us, there’s a reason why National Pretzel Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month are the same month.”

Dan DiZio teamed up with college buddy Len Lehman in 1998 to create the first blueprint of the Philly Pretzel Factory. Today, the brand has grown from a single location in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia to a 100-plus-unit franchise with its eyes set on adding 10 more locations in 2010.

With its menu strategically priced for any economy, the brand continued to thrive in 2009 and onward through the beginning of 2010, never wavering from its commitment to its customers.

“Our founder’s principal of giving our customers great Philly-based tasting treats has caught on nationally. With an incredible following, we are positioned for steady growth throughout this year,” said Marty Ferrill, VP of Operations.

As the world’s largest Philly-style bakery, Philly Pretzel bakes fresh, delicious soft pretzels delivered to customers “Hot Outta The Oven.” Each pretzel, made from a mix of only the finest pretzel ingredients, is hand twisted to ensure quality and freshness.

ABOUT PHILLY PRETZEL FACTORY

Philly Pretzel Factory was founded in 1998 by college buddies Dan DiZio and Len Lehman who created a recipe unique to Philly, yet desired in any market. Today, the award-winning pretzel feeds customers at more than 100 franchised locations, primarily in the Northeast. To mitigate these problems, the Montgomery County Commissioners have authorized the Waste System Authority to hold a free tire collection so that residents can get rid of these hard-to-dispose-of items. On Saturday, September 25th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Upper Dublin Municipal parking , 801 Loch Alsh Avenue, Fort Washington, the Waste System Authority will hold a tire collection for Montgomery County residents only. A maximum of 4 tires per vehicle will be allowed, and no tires from commercial activities will be accepted.
“One tire with standing water in it can make it impossible for all the neighbors to enjoy their back yards,” Matthews said. “Even if you’re willing to pay, it’s hard to find anyone who will take old tires.”

Please join the Waste System Authority on September 25th in our efforts to create a cleaner and safer place to work and live. Four tires maximum.

At Nationals, in the 11-12 Age Group division, Elise Alexander of Collegeville, Hannah and Heidi Atlas of Malvern, Lily Cremers of Pottstown, Ceili Hamill of Collegeville and Marissa Olalde of Phoenixville, and Alexandra Poteet of Chester Springs, competed with a team routine set to a soda pop jingle medley.

Also at Nationals were the duet of Alexander and Olalde, the trio of Cremers, Atlas and Poteet, the trio of Alexander, Olalde and Heidi Atlas of Malvern and the solo of Poteet.

The team’s Intermediate Division swimmers, who are newer to the sport, participated in the East Zone Championships, the highest level of competition for those girls, after placing well at the Regional level of competition.

At Regionals, the girls had strong swim performances.

In the 11-12 Intermediate division, the team of Kyra Bernotas of Phoenixville, Ceili Hamill of Collegeville, Kyra Skoog of Pottstown, and Heidi Atlas, placed third. Bernotas, Skoog and Hamill took fourth for their trio routine, and Bernotas and Heidi Atlas took fourth for their duet.

In the 13-15 Intermediate division, the team of Erin Boring and Kavita Hivale of Phoenixville, and Natalia McKay, and Alexis and Rachel Warner, all of Downingtown, placed second to qualify for the East Zone Championships. In addition, the duet of Boring and McKay, the trio of Alexis and Rachel Warner, and Hivale; and Boring’s solo all qualified for the zone champs.

The more experienced Age Group swimmers also performed well at Regionals.

In the 13-15 Age Group division, the team of Tess Cremers of Pottstown, Paige McDonald of Unionville, Natalia Mujica of Chester Springs, and Renee Johnson, Andrea Stock and Erin Weber, all of Phoenixville, took third place for their routine set to a medley of popular Italian songs to qualify for Nationals, where they were joined by teammate Mia Colona of Glenmoore. In addition, the trio of Mujica, Stock and Weber finished fourth with their Pirates of the Caribbean routine, and a solo by Sarah Ferris of Berwyn finished second, to qualify for Nationals and the East Zone Championships.

In the 16-17 Age Group division, the team of Emily Boring of Phoenixville, Sarah Ferris and Haley Richter, both of Berwyn, and Maureen McGrath of West Chester took second place for a dramatic routine set to music from the movie Van Helsing. They were joined at Nationals by their teammate Adriana Colona of Glenmoore. Additionally, the trio of Ferris, McGrath and Richter, with Colona as an alternate, took third; the duet of Emily Boring and Weber took fourth, and Emily Boring in solo took third to qualify for Nationals.

While at the competition, the girls also were required to perform “figures,” a set of compulsory positions before a panel of judges, and also scored well, taking numerous ribbons for their strong showing.

• In the 16-17 Age Group figures, Emily Boring took third, and Weber placed seventh.
• In the 13-15 Age Group figures, Mujica took eighth place.
• In the 13-15 Intermediate figures, McKay took fourth and Erin Boring took sixth.
• In the 11-12 Age Group, Poteet took third and Lily Cremers took fifth place.
• In the 11-12 Intermediate figures, Bernotas took fourth, and Heidi Atlas took sixth
place.

The performances at Nationals and in Puerto Rico marked the culmination of many months of preparation and qualifying meets since November, including the Association championships hosted in April at the Phoenixville Area YMCA.

Throughout the season, the girls also scored well enough at a qualifying meet in Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg to compete against teams from throughout the East Coast from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts at the Junior Zone Synchronized Swimming competition in Westfield, N.J.

Younger and less experienced swimmers competed at the Have-a-Heart meet in Maryland, at which many earned high scores, medals and ribbons.

Synchronized swimming involves the in-water performance of dance, gymnastics and swimming movements, choreographed to music. It can include lifts, spins, throws and various underwater positions, some of which are done upside down, many in the deep water and all without the swimmer touching the bottom of the pool. Athletes perform their routines to various types of music, including swing, disco, nostalgic, techno and contemporary. Team routines consist of a group of four to eight swimmers performing together. Swimmers also participate in solo, duet and trio divisions of competition.

This marks the fourth year for the team, which was established at the YMCA in October
2006 by Head Coach Jennifer Hatt, with about a dozen members and has now grown to a field of
about 25 girls ages 8 through high school.

Hatt said she is pleased with what the girls have accomplished in their four years since
the team’s inaugural season at the YMCA. Each year, the team has grown as new swimmers take
lessons and then decide to join the sport.

The Y is now taking sign-ups for the next round of lessons, which will begin Sept. 21 at
both the Phoenixville and Spring Valley branches. The Phoenixville branch will include both a
youth and an adult class.

Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. Students will learn the basic
techniques and a short routine, which they will have the chance to perform, if they desire, at the first meet of the season in November.

For more information contact the coach Jennifer Hatt at jhatt@fvymca.org or call the
YMCA 610-933-5861.

Through a rigorous screening process, the World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneers program identifies companies from around the world that develop and apply the most innovative and transformational technologies that have the promise of making a critical impact on the future of business and society. Neuronetics’ NeuroStar TMS Therapy system is the first and only non-systemic and non-invasive TMS device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder.*

“We are honored that the World Economic Forum Selection Committee has chosen Neuronetics as a Technology Pioneer. The NeuroStar TMS Therapy system is making a profound contribution to the well-being of depression patients and their families. Depression is a debilitating disease that creates an enormous personal burden, is responsible for the consumption of vast amounts of health care resources, and reduces workplace productivity. By treating depression with the NeuroStar® system, we are working to address these critical issues for patients, payers and employers,” said Neuronetics’ President and CEO, Bruce Shook. (For a complete review of Mr. Shook’s comments visit www.weforum.org/techpioneers.)

About NeuroStar TMS Therapy

NeuroStar TMS Therapy was cleared by the FDA in October 2008 for adult patients with major depressive disorder who have not adequately benefitted from prior antidepressant medication*.

NeuroStar TMS Therapy is a non-systemic (does not circulate in the bloodstream throughout the body) and non-invasive (does not involve surgery) form of neuromodulation. It stimulates nerve cells in an area of the brain that has been linked to depression, by delivering highly focused MRI-strength magnetic field pulses. The treatment is typically administered daily for 4-6 weeks. In an open-label clinical trial, which is most like real world clinical practice, approximately 1 in 2 patients experienced significant improvement in symptoms, and 1 in 3 experienced complete symptom resolution. There were no systemic side effects such as those experienced with some antidepressant medications. The most common adverse events related to treatment were scalp pain or discomfort at the treatment area during active treatments. There is a rare risk of seizure with TMS Therapy (0.1% of patients under general clinical use). NeuroStar TMS Therapy is not indicated or effective for all patients with depression; it is available only upon the prescription of a psychiatrist. For full safety and prescribing information, visit www.NeuroStarTMS.com.

Availability of NeuroStar TMS Therapy

Treatment with NeuroStar TMS Therapy is available at over 200 treatment centers in 37 states. For information on specific treatment locations that offer NeuroStar TMS Therapy, please visit www.NeuroStar.com or call the Neuronetics Customer Service Center at (877) 600-7555.

About Neuronetics

Neuronetics, Inc. is a privately-held medical device company focused on developing non-invasive therapies for psychiatric and neurological disorders using MRI-strength magnetic field pulses. Based in Malvern, PA, Neuronetics is the leader in the development of TMS Therapy, a non-invasive form of neuromodulation. Neuronetics was created as a spinout of The Innovation Factory, a medical device incubator in Duluth, GA. For more information, please visit www.neuronetics.com.

* NeuroStar TMS Therapy® is indicated for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder in adult patients who have failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from one prior antidepressant medication at or above the minimal effective dose and duration in the current episode.

Weather permitting, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Delaware County Intercommunity Health Coordination will apply treatments the evening of Wednesday, July 21, in portions of Upper Chichester and Lower Chichester townships to control adult mosquito populations. The rain date for this application is Thursday, July 22. Adult mosquitoes in these areas have tested positive for the West Nile virus. The treatments will be administered during the evening hours with truck and ATV-mounted equipment to spray open spaces in residential and recreational areas. The equipment dispenses Biomist 3+15, a permethrin insecticide product, at a rate of .75 ounces per acre. This product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. Certain mosquito species carry the West Nile virus, which can cause humans to contract West Nile encephalitis, an infection that can result in an inflammation of the brain. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all residents in areas where virus activity has been identified are at risk of getting West Nile encephalitis. To date, 31 mosquito samples have been identified with the West Nile virus in Delaware County this year. There have been no confirmed human cases in Pennsylvania this year.

Individuals can take a number of measures around the home to help eliminate mosquito-breeding areas, including:

• Dispose of cans, buckets, plastic containers, ceramic pots or similar containers that hold water on your property.
• Properly dispose of discarded tires that can collect water. Stagnant water is where most mosquitoes breed.
• Drill holes in the bottom of outdoor recycling containers.
• Clean clogged roof gutters every year, particularly if the leaves from surrounding trees tend to plug drains.
• Turn over plastic wading pools when not in use.
• Turn over wheelbarrows and don’t let water stagnate in birdbaths.
• Aerate ornamental pools or stock them with fish.
• Clean and chlorinate swimming pools not in use and remove any water that may collect on pool covers.

For stagnant pools of water, homeowners can buy Bti products at lawn and garden, outdoor supply, home improvement and other stores.

This naturally occurring bacteria kills mosquito larva, but is safe for people, pets, aquatic life and plants. In addition, there are a few simple precautions to prevent mosquito bites, particularly for people who are most at risk:

• Make sure screens fit tightly over doors and windows to keep mosquitoes out of homes.
• Consider wearing long-sleeved shirts, long pants and socks when outdoors, particularly when mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk, or in areas known for having large numbers of mosquitoes.
• When possible, reduce outdoor exposure at dawn and dusk during peak mosquito periods, usually April through October.
• Use insect repellants according to the manufacturer’s instructions. An effective repellant will contain DEET, picaridin or oil of lemon eucalyptus. Consult with a pediatrician or family physician if you have questions about the use of repellant on children, as repellant is not recommended for children under the age of two months.
