Three area Devon Prep seniors were elected to the student council executive board for the 2009-10 school year. Brendan Fulmer (left) of Broomall will serve as President, Peter DeLong (center) of Downingtown will serve as vice president and Griffith Roberts of West Chester as treasurer.
Members of Devon Prep’s student council are elected by fellow students. The council not only mediates between administration, faculty, and the student body, but also administers and finances most of the students’ activities. The revenues of the various activities, basketball games, and dances provide much of the necessary funds for the impressive activities budget.
Student council members, especially the executive board, often represent Devon Prep’s student body at events both on and off campus, such as Open House, Spring TIDE and the Headmaster’s Reception. Participation in the Student Council provides training for leadership, service, and loyalty.
Devon Prep is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades six to 12 conducted by the Piarist Fathers. Devon Prep will hold an Open House on Sunday, October 4 from 1 to 4 PM on campus at 363 North Valley Forge Rd., Devon, PA.
