Harvest Days at Landis Valley Museum & Village is celebrating their 50th anniversary this weekend, October 10-11! Watch as skilled craftspeople demonstrate 18th and 19th century skills such as apple butter making, rope making, spinning and weaving, quilting and bake oven baking.

Wander through the Pumpkin Patch to select a pumpkin to decorate. Horse-drawn wagon rides, pumpkin games, a straw maze and craft activities, too.

Live and Learn Weekend

Explore Pennsylvania’s Quest for Freedom stories about our nation’s racial and gender history – from the Civil War to civil rights to the present day – with a Live & Learn Weekend that celebrates Lancaster’s heritage and art.

Join us on October 16th at 6pm for a walking tour of part of the Stevens & Smith Historic Site hosted by PA Past Players portraying U.S. Representative Thaddeus Stevens – who helped deliver freedom for all Americans – and his African-American business partner Lydia Hamilton Smith, followed by a lively discussion of the book “My Confederate Kinfolk,” led by Dr. Louise Stevenson, professor at F&M College.

Continue your exploration the next day with a visit to the multicultural Mosaic Project at the PA College of Art & Design during Downtown Lancaster’s Fall ArtWalk. A limited number of complimentary tickets are also available for the 1pm performance of Bethel AME Church’s Underground Railroad reenactment, “Living the Experience.”
